Animals including Humans

Animals including Humans

During this term we will learn the following:

  • recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way bodies function;
  • describe the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within animals and humans;
  • identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system;
  • describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood.

More details of the learning can be found in the Knowledge Organiser below.

What should I know already? What should I remember from previous years?

In Year 2 - you learned:

  • to describe the importance for humans of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food and hygiene.

In Year 3 - you learned:

  • to identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food (they get nutrition from what they eat).
