Below are a list of useful websites and suggestions for home learning.

Many websites are now offering parents free subscriptions to support self-isolation, home schooling and school closures.

  • Twinkl- all round educational resource To support you during this period, Twinkl is offering every teacher in England access to all Twinkl resources with a One Month Ultimate Membership, totally free of charge. We’re also extending this to every parent and carer in your school so your pupils can still have access to high-quality learning during any periods of disruption. Setting this up is really easy to do - go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS
  • Exercise at home - Go noodle GoNoodle is awesome fun for the whole family! We love it when everyone does our dances, sings our songs, and plays GoNoodle together. It’s a daily ritual in most elementary schools across the U.S. (and many around the world) and we think it’s a super fun thing you can do with your little ones every day too! Plus, we have another app called “GoNoodle Games” that is an awesome way to get your kids moving in front of the screen. Sign up for our emails and in the days and weeks ahead, we will send you weekly fresh, fun ideas for you and your kids well-beyond GoNoodle. Sign up to get these on the Good Energy page.
  • TT Rockstars All children have individual usernames and passwords
  • Music Lessons We are aware that pupils who usually have instrumental music lessons are now unable to do so as they are at home, so we have set up a system whereby everyone can access instrumental music lessons if they wish, via video link. All of the information about which tutors are available for tuition and how lessons are set up can be found on our website

We are mindful of parents being concerned about their child’s screen time and advise you to take a look at the website below to compliment the activities you will be doing at home

Some activities for pupils at home:

  • Read a book and write a book review, write the next part of the story, character profiles, retell what you have read and pick out unfamiliar words and find out their meaning.
  • Maths – Sums – Using addition, subtraction, times tables and division. Write some down for your child and make them practical for little ones, how many pieces of fruit are there altogether?
  • Choose a topic that interests you – Dinosaurs, History, Animals, Transport, Places around the World or Country – Write a fact file about what you have found out.
  • Story writing – Be imaginative and creative. Use a picture or idea to start your work.

Of course we highly encourage practical and hands on opportunities together such as:

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Playdough – You can make this at home very easily!
  • Baking cakes and biscuits
  • Sticker books
  • Learn to fasten laces or fasten coats and ties
  • Board games and card games as a family
  • Learn to cook a meal together or make a sandwich for younger ones
  • Nature Walks or a scavenger hunt in the garden
  • Gardening and Planting
