The School Opening Hours
The Government’s recent White paper ‘Opportunity for all: strong schools with great teachers for your child’ introduces a compulsory minimum expectation on the length of the school week of 32.5 hours (the current average) for all mainstream state-funded schools.
In maintained schools, such as ours, the governing board is responsible for setting the length of the school day.
Following consultation with our Governing Body, our opening times are as follows;
| Beginning of the school day | Gates open at 8.30am Entry to classrooms at 8.40am Registration 8.50am Doors and gates close at 8.50am |
| End of the school day | Gates open for families to enter the school at 3.05pmCollection of children at 3.20pm Nursery children collection at 3.15pm |
The additional 5 minutes that we are gaining for the end of the day we are going to use for promoting our love of reading, sharing stories and books in class.
