This week, in Geography, we have been looking at a local landmark, The Lowry Theatre at Salford Quays. The Lowry Theatre is named after the famous painter L.S. Lowry. He lived and worked in Salford for over 40 years and painted everyday scenes of people in the streets, going to work etc. He has a very unique, recognisable style when he paints. Look at the pictures of some of his paintings. His people figures are known as 'matchstalk men.' If you want to find out more about him, look at the powerpoint. Then, have a go at drawing some of the characters in the style of L.S. Lowry. The sheet will help you. If you do any drawings you could colour them in or paint them. I would love to see them.
