Year 5 to Year 6!
Hi Year 5 (soon to be Year 6)!
I am so excited about being your teacher for next year and I hope you are too. It's so sad that we haven't been able to see each other during the last few months and have our usual meet the teach morning. Fortunately I have been able to meet a handful of the children because they have been in school as children of key workers - it was so nice to see them!
I have also been in contact with Grace on the blog - thank you Grace!
I know a few of you from my Book Club that I ran last year - I hope to run these again next year, depending on the restrictions that are still in place because of COVID.
I do hope that you are able to make contact with me via the Blog over the Summer break - I hope to be posting on it occasionally. However, I'd also like you to tell me all about you. If you read through the slide show below, I tell you a few things about me and I want you to tell me things about you.
You could type it up or write it on paper and send it to me on email - I will email your parents with my email address.
Also use the blog where you can stay in touch with me directly!
I love reading! I think reading is so important AND fun!
It gives you so much; it can take you places, it can make you cry, it can make you laugh, it can make you scared and it can teach you new things.
Knowledge is power and the more you read the more you know!
Below are some reading lists for you all. They are suggestions.
Try to read a book over the summer that you have always wanted to read but still haven't got round to.
Try to read a book over the summer that you wouldn't normally read.
Try to read a book over the summer that someone else has recommended to you.
Try to read a book that challenges you.
Most of all - try to read for fun, to relax or instead of a screen.
I know I will!
