LO: To use the subjunctive mood to write an imaginary set of guidelines
Imagine you were the Ah Kin Mai or another influential member of society e.g. mayor, head teacher, member of school council.
You must write a set of guidelines that you would want all people to abide by to make a positive impact on the community.
I will provide a word bank for alternative verbs to replace tell:
ask | demand | advise |
insist | command | propose |
recommend | request | inform |
e.g. If I were The Mayor of London, I would propose
that all transport runs on renewable energy sources.
This work is to either be done or on your computer on a piece of paper. As we are using the subjunctive mood your guidelines should have a formal tone.
Gold group : five guidelines to be written using the subjunctive mood.
Silver group: Six guidelines to be written using the subjunctive form.
Black: Seven guidelines to be written using the subjunctive form.
