Year 4 children learning how to work with clay.
They rolled the clay into balls and used the technique of pinch potting the clay. They also learned about scoring different parts of the pot in order to help the base and handles grip better. They painted the vases brown to give a terracotta effect and drew their designs in black. You can see the finished product below.
In English we have been looking at Myths and Legend. We drafted and edited our stories and read them to our young Year 2 audience.
We enjoy play scripts and acted out Pandora.
Year 4 Ancient Greece Day

Autumn two has started with Year 4 working with an artist from Salford Quays who wanted to do an art project involving plastic bottles. So each child brought in a plastic bottle and they beat them flat cut the base off the bottles and cut strips to turn the bottles into flowers. The artist took the cut out plastic bottle away to be sprayed in the colours mentioned by the children. We are looking forward to seeing how they will be displayed.
