Year 5 Sports Day!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our sports day this year. It was a great success and the children really enjoyed themselves. Well done Year 5!

Quarry Bank Mill

Year 5 visited Quarry Bank Mill as part of our Victorian topic. The children experienced life as an apprentice living and working at the mill in the 1800's. The children took part in a guided tour of the apprentice house and the mill. During the day they were able to recreate some of the jobs that children would have carried out back in time and learnt lots of interesting facts, as well as listening to some very gory stories!

11/12/20 - Santa dash!

We had great fun completing our daily mile wearing our Santa hats. Super work year 5!

Science classifying organisms - pictures from yeast experiment

In science this term we have been looking at classifying organisms. We have have grouped organisms according to their characteristics, we have worked on classifying plants and we have looked at who Carl Linnaeus was and analysed his classification system. We all had lots of fun exploring what micro-organisms are and how they can be grouped. We particularly enjoyed the yeast experiment and observing what foods yeast reacts with best.

10/12/20- Today we had great fun watching Mr Stix’s

Instead of going to the pantomime this year we had an extra special treat. Mr Stix came to visit us and we watched a fantastic magic show. We all had lots of fun!
