Jean Arp
This week, we learnt about the abstract artist Jean Arp, and his technique of allowing torn paper to fall from a height before glueing it down wherever it landed. We used a similar technique with string, dipping it in glue before allowing it to fall from a height. We then allowed it to dry before using paint, pastels, chalk and crayons to fill in the spaces between.
Georgia O’Keefe
This week we learnt about Georgia O’Keefe and her use of a close-up technique to paint flowers. We used the same technique to create magnified pictures of butterflies.
