Year 3 & Year 4 Art Club
This week, we learnt about the abstract artist Jean Arp, and his technique of allowing torn paper to fall from a height before glueing it down wherever it landed. We used a similar technique with string, dipping it in glue before allowing it to fall from a height. We then allowed it to dry before using paint, pastels, chalk and crayons to fill in the spaces between.
This week we learnt about Georgia O’Keefe and her use of a close-up technique to paint flowers. We used the same technique to create magnified pictures of butterflies.
This week, we all chose a photograph that we liked. We then used pencils and crayons to complete the photograph, extending them using our own imaginations.
