Easter Bonnet Parade

 

Well done everyone, you're Easter Bonnets were amazing!

Geography Field Trip/Library Trip

 

This half term we have been learning about Our Local Area in Geography. We explored our local area and collected information about what we found. We ended our field trip with a visit to our local Library. We have a lovely afternoon.

Thank you to all of our parents and carers for listening to what we have been learning about this half term.

Number Day

 

Year 1 had a great day celebrating all things number.  Thank you for all of your generous donations for the NSPCC.

Computing

 

The children have really enjoyed using the Bee-Bots during our computing lessons. They gave each other instructions to follow in the classroom. They practised using the different buttons to make the Bee-Bot move and worked in pairs to plan a route for the Bee-Bot to travel along.

P.E.

 

The children have been doing gymnastics in P.E, they have been learning how to travel in different ways and to complete different balances. They then put them together to make a simple sequence.

Christmas Fun!

 

 

Christmas Performance: Prickly Hay

The children did a brilliant job in their performance of 'Prickly Hay.' Well done everyone!

Santa Dash

 

To promote the importance of being active we took part in the annual Santa Dash!

Reading for pleasure

 

The children have really enjoyed listening to stories read by some of our amazing Year 5 pupils.

Maths

 

The children have enjoyed learning about 2-D shapes. They sorted 2-D shapes in different ways and made patterns. 

Art

 

This half term the children have been working on their drawing skills. They have been using the continuous line drawing technique.

Odd Socks Day

In Anti-Bullying Week we wore odd socks to show that we are all different and that is okay.

Talk Money Day

 

The children had lots of fun dressing up as their chosen career. They took part in lots of  activities linked to money, thinking about where money comes from, how they get money and what they can do with their money. 

 

Thank you to Lydia's Mum who came in to talk about her own career and shared a lovely story with the children. 

Showcase

On the last day of the half-term, our parents and carers came into school to find out about everything we have been learning over the past seven weeks. We were proud to show them things we have done.

This half term the children have been learning how to sew. They have made their own hand puppet. What a great job!

English Workshop

The children took part in a workshop based on the book Charlie Cook's Favourite Book. They had lots of fun completing different drama activities and trying their hand at puppetry.

Music

This half term we have been listening to rap music. The children learned the rap song Hey You! and learned how to play note C on the glockenspiel.

Science

 

The children have been learning about the human body in Science. They labelled different body parts and explored each of the five senses.

P.E.

 

This half term the children have been working on their fundamental skills with Mrs Gilmore. They have been learning to throw, catch and kick a ball accurately. 

Computing

 

This half term the children have been learning to name the different parts of a desktop computer. They have also been practising how to use a keyboard to type their name.
